W.E is a movie realized by Madonna in 2012. The historical movie is based on real facts: in 1936 the future King of England Edward VIII give up the throne for marry to an american divorced woman Wallis Simpson. He couldn't to marry her because she's divorced twice and she comes from to a different social background: before these wedding were forbidden.

In the movie, in 1998 a woman find letters written by Edward and Wallis.

In my opinion the title of the movie is due to the firts letters of their names: W for Wallis and E for Edward. And I think the word "we" is like "us", like a couple.

In class, we have studied a new theme: women and challenges with many examples like Ellen MacArthur( a famous sailor), Jane Eyre, the character of Rose in the movie Titanic, Emmeline Pankhurst (a political activist for rights of women) or Fanny Cockrame Smith (the grand-mother to all australien).

All of them they are beaten for something they cared about like love, liberty or equality between men and women. They are real role-models because they had to confront hardships or to deal with a problem.

Finely, I look these people because they contributed to a change in the mind of the world. Before women were dependent of their husband, had to obei to him and do everything in the house ( children, cook, clean...). And now there are again inequality but it's better than before.

The sinking of Titanic took place the 14th April 1912 to 11:40pm. The boat sank in three hours because of a collision with an iceberg. There were 2,200 passengers on board. The departure was Southampton in England to New-York but it never arrived, it stopped to Canada.

This day, more than 800 passengers died: 40% on the first background, 58% on the second and 75% on the third. There are many reasons for that like the lack of lifeboats.

But the Titatic is a movie too: a movie by James Cameron in 1997 based on a love story between a rich woman (Rose) and a poor man (Jack) so they are in two different world but they fall in love. Rose wants to leave with Jack because she feds up of her society who abandon for him. She rests on the boat to be with Jack but in the end Jack deads.

Who knows? The end of the world maybe is coming soon, in December.

In class, we studied this theme in first with The Road (text and trailer): an epic journey in the future with a father and his son, they are terrified, they have to hide for survive.

After, we have seen report about VIVOS survival bunkers, a shelter located not far from Los Angeles who dated to The Cold War, looks like a luxury boat and very expensive.

A growing number of Americans are preparing for the end of the world as we know it. They believe the end is near and so they are preparing buying bunkers properties with high tech amenities.

Then, we have worked of three movies: War of the World (1953) by Byron Askin during the Cold War, War of the World (2005) by Steven Spielberg after 9/11. Like The Road, there is an apocalyptic description, a pessimistic vision of the future with aliens invasions ( a metaphor of USSR or terrorism). And the third, Mars Attacks (1996) by Tim Burton who encourages us to take the matter too seriously, he exagerate things with humor. It's a parody but is denounce something like Orson Welles (1938) who shows the War of the Worlds like a mass manipulation.

Sometimes,the informations are not real and we do not believe anything.               Be careful !

Time is an abstract notion, we can calculate it and read it with clocks for exemple. Time is not the same in the world, there are jetlagged. The personification of Time is the Greek God Chronos, a Titan.

Time is associed with Space, they are intertwined. Time can be predict like the end of the world in 12/21/2012, It is an ominous prediction.

Nobody is eternal, people are not immortal: they born, grow old and disappear for rest in peace. The next generations take over.

Time is situated in the past, the present, and the future like the resurrection: to bring something back to life. People are buried and gradually robots replace humans.

Logorama is a French animated film written and directed by François Alaux, Hervé de Crécy and Ludovic Houplain. It's a modern cartoon with lots of brands and mascots. This movie takes place in Los Angeles, California in the United States where all of the buildings and the inhabitants are some form of commercial branding. The characters have been inspired from famous characters in popular movie. This cartoon is a caricature of the real life, a society of consumerism.

There are the Pringles mascot, a truck driver and esso girl waitress in the beginning. Two Michelin men cops in a police cruiser who debate about animals in zoos. F.Big Boy and Haribo are visitors in the Zoo and Mr. Clean is the Guide. Ronald McDonal is the villain, who is in a car chase with cops because he is a criminal.

The consumerism is the need to buy anything for our personal comfort even if these objects are often unnecessary. Nowadays our society is a consumer society.

People seem to have been deprived from their own freedom of thought. They are headless like chicken. It's the picture where there is a head in the shopping bag.

The consumerism is shown for Christmas day, it became a commercial party rather than traditional or religious. People are congested, stuck in traffic jams.

Consumerism makes many advertisments like change the quotation of Descartes "I think therefore I am" in "I shop therefore I am". So people buy things, they feel that they exist.
